Thursday coming

Hi All

Up until now we’ve considered the What? Why? questions. This week we will focus on ‘who?

In preparation for this can you come with the answer to two questions:

1. Who are you trying to influence in your project?

Be as specific as you can. Even if it is the ‘general public’ what brings them in contact with your project? What sort of people are they? Age, ethnicity, attitudes, experiences.

A full answer in relation to this question could include a quantitative description of the target audience (e.g. statistics) and a qualitative description that brings them alive as people.

Ideally, your response will be based on your research to date but if you haven’t got this far, then find out what you can before Thursday.

2. What changes in attitudes and/or behaviour do you hope to achieve in your target audience?

Ask yourself: What (if anything) are your audience currently doing/thinking in relation to your project that can be changed? Think about the barriers that exist to change.

For thursday:

Come with answers to these questions, in the form of text, sketches etc. Bring these people to life, not just generally but within the specific context of your project.

Include short specific sentences which express how your audience might currently think/behave in relation to the subject of your project and then how they might think/behave after your project has been realized. Present it in a way that allows the group to be able to view your work.

The aim of Thursday is for you to gain insights into your audience, what you want to communicate and what you want them to think or do in relation to your project.

Then, next week, (10th February) we will discuss your ideas about how you intend to go about doing this.

We will meet at Back Hill on Thursday at 10am. I will be there from 9am, if anyone wants to talk to me.

Victoria
